My Name is Ashlee K Thomas. Salt Lake City, UT Native, Nashville based touring artist, and yoga teacher. I grew up with my 3 sisters, my brother, and my Mom and Dad playing music in our home daily. We all took private lessons in our instrument of choice. I started on the violin at age four and by fifteen, I was ready for more. I learned some chords on the guitar and began writing songs straight from the experience i had been both plagued and blessed by. I always knew I would be an artist and songstress out on the road. Touring the west lead me to moving the Nashville, TN. 2007, motherless and brotherless, I left my beloved mountains and found myself in the heart of music city, sweating in a yoga class. I was so uncomfortable, I knew it was something that had to be explored. In 2010 I was honored by an apprenticeship with my two Teachers, Jane House and Gillian St. Clair. I teach yoga and play music all over the country, and world. Shared stages with some of my biggest influences. In 2016 I completed Hathavidya YTT.
I think a yoga practice is like a parallel road that runs alongside the path of the life you are living. My thoughts and reactions to my body during my practice correlate directly to how I treat my life and the people in it. Through the practice, I find more love, awareness, and grace for myself. I get stronger, and my mind becomes more sound. The purpose is to share and offer the same love, awareness, and grace to others. It is impossible to give to another, what you refuse yourself. I think yoga postures are wise, and if we check into the angles and sacred geometry, we find more space, balance, knowledge, and peace. Most of all a profound joy and pulse when we turn our sensations into healing observation.
